2011 Classic Car Raffle Official Rules- Sponsored by the Valley View Rotary of La Crosse, WI.
The Valley View Rotary is a charitable organization and our mission is to foster the ideals of community service, promote high ethical standards in business and professions, and advance understanding of goodwill and peace through fellowship of persons united by serving local and global society.
Valley View Rotary provides financial and/or personal support to non-profit, charitable, and non-political organizations providing life essential and life enhancement services such as YMCA, WAFER Food Pantry, New Horizon’s Women’s Shelter, Boy Scouts of American, Myrick Hixon EcoPark, Kids Coulee, Rotary Lights, the Rotary Foundation (local), Rotary International and other designated local and global charities prescribed and approved by Rotary International.
DONATIONS
For each $10.00 donation, a single raffle entry will be generated for the donor. For each $20 donation, 3 raffle entries will be generated for the donor. Checks or money orders should be made payable to Valley View Rotary Club. A “donation” shall not occur and be binding on the Valley view Rotary until funds received for the same have cleared the bank. Credit Cards are not accepted for donations at this time. Raffle donations may be made in person to a Valley View Rotary member or at one of the participating locations listed on the website www.drivinganoldie.com . Donations are not tax deductable.
Each donation shall constitute an “entry” into the raffle drawing, and the person to whom the entry is registered shall be the “entrant” Although more than one name may be provided on the entry registration form, the entry shall be registered to the first name listed, who shall constitute the sole entrant for that ticket. The winning entrant shall be the “winner” of the prize. Transfer of prize ownership will be made to the entrant. The winner must supply his/her social security number before the prize is tendered. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to allocate a winning prize to other participants in case of a multiple entry registration, and the winning entrants shall hold harmless the Valley View Rotary Club on conflicting claims or disputes among multiple claimants.
VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW
This raffle is conducted in the accordance with the gaming laws enacted and enforced by the State of Wisconsin and void in areas prohibited or restricted by law. Raffle promoters and/or the Valley View Rotary Club of La Crosse, WI are not responsible for lost or stolen entries. Raffle entries will be disqualified, at the sole discretion of Valley View Rotary of La Crosse, WI, if any attempts are made to disrupt the raffle or circumvent the terms and conditions of these official rules. If the above occurs, Valley View Rotary reserves the right to remedy any such action, disruption, or circumvention in a manner, determined solely by Valley View Rotary that is fair and equitable to raffle participants.
Valley View Rotary of La Crosse, its members, officers, directors, agents and representatives and their parent organizations, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising, promotion and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: 1. Late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or unintelligible entries; 2. Failed, returned, or misdirected notifications based on inaccurate information provided by the winner; 3. Telephone, electronic, hardware, or software program, internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties resulting from participation in the raffle or otherwise; 4. Errors in transmission; 5. Any condition caused by events beyond the control of Valley View Rotary that may cause the raffle to be disrupted or corrupted; 6 any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by a prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of a prize, or from participation in the raffle; 7. Or any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the raffle.
ELIGIBILITY
Entrants must be legal residents of the United States and 16 years of age or older on, or before, October 22, 2010. The entrant must supply his/her social security number to receive prize. If an entrant’s check is dishonored prior to the drawing, the entry ticket will be declared invalid, until a replacement donation is received. All checks found dishonored after the drawing must be honored. A $25.00 charge will be assessed for non-sufficient or stop payment checks.
DRAWING
The raffle will take place on October 21, 2011, North Hall, Approximately 7:30 pm, at the La Crosse Center. The winner does not need to be present to win and will be notified by Valley View Rotary within 7 business days of the drawing. It is the responsibility of the donor/entrant to provide a valid, mailing address, phone and/or email address for notification.
PRIZE
The first prize winner for the October 21, 2011 drawing will be awarded a 1977 Chevy Corvette with an official appraisal value of no less than $12,500, car is as-is and will not be awarded with a warranty.
Winner does not need to be present at the drawing but must present their entry stub when claiming the prize. The winner must claim their prize within 14 days from notification, per directions provided in the no9tification letter. He/she is responsible for picking up the car on a date, time and site within La Crosse County, WI designated by the Valley View Rotary. Failure to claim the prize within 14 days results in forfeiture of the prize.
All Federal, state and local income, sales and/or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the prize, are the responsibility of the holder of the winning ticket. The IRS has taken the position that amounts donated for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, the price of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution. Winner must compete a W-9 form before receiving prize. For further information, consult your qualified financial advisor.
In the event a minimum of 2,000 donations are not received by October 20, 2010,Valley View Rotary Club of La Crosse, WI reserves the right to withdraw the car prize and pay 50% of the net proceeds up to $12,500 to one winner.
WAIVER/LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Entrants release Valley View Rotary, La Crosse, WI, board of directors, committee members, officers, volunteers, and representative agents from any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion and possession of the prize. Any liability of the Valley View Rotary shall be limited to the donation amount. In case of a dispute, Valley View Rotary’s decision shall be final. Valley View Rotary is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.
Entrant agrees to allow Valley View Rotary to use his/her name and/or image without any compensation for any promotional activity related to this or any future raffle. Any and all addresses and contact information of the purchaser will not be released to the public.
